Biography
Formed in Cononley in 2023 from the ashes of the Thursdays, ‘The Fruits’ (previously Slightly Strange Fruit) were the headline act at ConFest 2023 and have performed locally since then including most recently at ConFest 2024, Joda Transport Family Fun Day and other local events.
The Fruits are a four piece band consisting of Blair Mitchell (lead vocal, bass and guitar), Ian Wildman (guitar, backing/lead vocal), Rachel Beck (lead vocal, bass) and Richard Whiteley (Drums, backing/lead vocals),
Blair, Ian, Rachel and Richard are all known on the local music circuit, with current active involvements in other acts you may have seen, as solo performers, in duos or as members of other bands.
The Philosophy of the band is to play great music, to make sure the audience (and they) have a good time and to not take themselves too seriously. So keep a look out for gigs and get your dancing shoes ready.
